Lavalier Microphones are essential to film-making. Whether you know them as lavs, lapel mics or clip mics are super useful when you need to catch audio and film on the go. They’re super convenient to record audio when you can’t carry larger microphones around or when you’re filming from a distance.
As a noobie to lavaliers we’re going to go over the use cases, quality and other useful tips for beginner filmmakers!

I never really understood the necessity of lav mics when we had shotgun mics and stuff. Cause all of the “lav mics” I’ve tried haven’t been the best of quality (to be fair though I’ve never been about spending the $). The one we’ll be talking about today is the:
Comica BoomX-D1
The wireless lapel mic set I got comes with one transmitter and one receiver. They’re super cute and only about the size of half a credit card. The lapel mic wire is decent in length and doesn’t have too much slack when standing 5′ 10″.
