I listened to Stephen Ilardi’s book; The Depression Cure on Audible a few years back. And I really appreciated his fresh approach to dealing with depression in a natural and organic way. He talks about some ideas that I find really eye-opening. And brings up points that I don’t think I’ve ever heard from any of my several therapists in the past 6-7 years. So taking a look at a “natropathic” solution really puts you in a no-loss position. Which is why I think this book is pretty much revolutionary.

So, with the new year in full bloom. I thought it would be worth a try to give this a shot again. I’ve been dealing with depression for a while now. But I’m constantly falling behind on my goals. While I’m still an advocate for medication I feel like there need to be an additional factor and that’s where I feel like this book comes into place.

Current Progress with Stephan Ilardi's: 6-Step Program

With multiple failures and forgetting about this depression plan in 2018. I thought a little public accountability might help. So we’ll see how much progress I can make with this program. He already simplified it pretty well but I think my main problem last year was I was focusing on too many things. So this time, this is it. This is literally all I’m trying to do right now. Everything else is secondary.

So if you’re new to this blog, depression is like a reoccurring topic cause mans been struggling still. But just tryna get into it i just wanna take action for it. I just want to be better but i feel like all my solutions are usually things that I can’t measure. I don’t know if I’m doing the right things so, by llowing Stephan Ilardi to setup 6 steps i can follow maybe we’ll just get better.

He has a pretty anti-med view which im not really fond of, at least he gives you actionable items so let’s show what he say in the Depression Cure here:

  1. Increase Omega 3
  2. Engage in Activities (avoid ruminating)
  3. Physical Activity
  4. More Sunlight
  5. Social Support
  6. Good Sleep

and he literally introduces one each week. I know i’ve mentioned these things already but whatever at least we have a guide to follow through. so to make things better lets make an excel sheet that we need to fill out
